Hylands Hobble Trail Race 13m 13 November 2011 Gavin Long reports: This was the 15th year that this race has been held and every year the route is different. Unlike previous occasions, there was little mud and no rivers to cross. Instead it was a really fast course which meant that the slightest navigational errors cost heavily. Paul, Steve and I all set off at the same time with the intention of running together. I hadn’t run for two weeks as I recovered from the OMM and my eagerness took over as I established an early lead which I didn’t want to relinquish. Steve caught me and we ran together for a while. Without planning it, we were pushing each other and a top 10 finish was very pleasing amid a competitive field. The girls again did well showing a real talent they have for these events.
