Shalford Lakeland Trail 11.4m 07 November 2010 Ele Long reports: “Mud - slippery mud - sticky mud - turnips - too many stiles and "low" fences to climb over with tired legs - horses - mud.” This was the fourth and final race in the competition known as the Essex Lakeland Trail Series. Obviously it was quite a commitment to race all four (I only managed 1), but Paul Burgess did do them all and secured a very impressive 8th position overall.
