Berkhamsted Half Marathon 07 March 2010 Carole Anastasi reports: The race was really nice and I enjoyed it despite "MY SUFFERING". I really recommend it for those who want to run in a nice, tough and quiet race. We were 1500 registered and 1151 to finish the race. But because of the route itself it does spread out very quickly. The route is all on road and in the countryside, only the first mile is in town. It is very hilly with a lot of climbs, some are long (longest was nearly 1 mile), and pretty steep (like in Saffron Walden). Of course there are also some long descents too, however the change of the route kills a bit your legs... One very nice thing is that it is only a 1 loop race and you finish downhill! There were markers every mile after the first 2, and if I remember well there were 3 water stations, signed posted maybe 500m before. The only bad point was about the facilities. Really not enough toilets, no showers and very small changing room. But we don't do races to enjoy those kind of things, do we? |
