Borrowdale Fell Race 17m 6500ft ascent

Steve White reports:

The Borrowdale Fell Race is a classic fell race, including the climbs of Bessy Boot, Scafell Pike, Great Gable and Dale Head.

Heavy rain over the previous few days and on the morning of the race had made the course very wet, which made running conditions challenging.

Simon Booth found it no problem, though, as he passed Billy Bland's record of 10 race victories, taking advantage of Rob Jebb (who had a 2 minute lead) taking the wrong route off Gable in the clag.

Emulating Rob Jebb has long been a target of mine, so I took the wrong route off Gable as well, wandered around in the clag for a while, and very nearly got timed out at the Honister checkpoint!
