Stebbing 10m

Claire Waters reports:

This morning saw a break in the rain, and encouraged lots of runners to turn up for the Stebbing 10 mile race. Race entries reached a record of over 500!

Saffron Striders were out in force, which was great to be a part of.

The course follows mainly quiet country lanes around Stebbing, with a few sections on farm tracks. The first half is fairly flat followed by a more hilly second half. It is a scenic, well marshalled race which is to be highly recommended. It is made even better by the tasty bacon rolls and cakes at the end!

The only downsides were the long queues for the bacon rolls, and the lengthy wait for the results to be announced (they could do with some coaching from John H!).

The results were worth waiting for though - don't you agree girls?!! And well done Nick on breaking the hour mark.
